Geotag feature in the Tramex Meters App and The 5 Series Meters

Video Link

In the field of construction, restoration, and building material inspection, moisture measurement data collection not only aids in making informed decisions but also provides comprehensive documentation for reports and compliance purposes.

The Tramex 5-series meters, integrated with the Tramex Meters App, offer advanced features such as geotagging. The Tramex geotag feature can be effectively utilized to improve your data accuracy and reporting.

Understanding the geotag feature

Geotagging allows users to link specific locational data to the moisture readings collected on a site. This feature is particularly beneficial for projects where identification of the site is considered a valuable or necessary part of the moisture report.

Using the geotag feature

To use the geotag feature on the Tramex 5-series meters, follow these steps:

  • Open the Tramex Meters App. Ensure that the Tramex Meters App is installed and open on your smartphone or tablet.

  • Power On the 5-series Meter.

  • Turn on the Bluetooth functionality on your device. The app will automatically search for available Tramex devices.

  • Select your meter from the list of detected devices to establish a connection.

  • Within the Tramex Meters App, click the photo option to initiate the camera.

  • Press the meter on the material you intend to test. When the display shows the reading, press the Pause button. This action locks the current reading, ensuring that the data remains static during the photo capture process.

  • Take a clear photograph of the reading and the testing location.

  • After capturing the photo, the app will prompt you to geotag the image. Confirm your choice to add geographical metadata to the photograph.

  • Save the geotagged photo and its corresponding moisture reading to a desired location. Typically, saving the image to your photo library ensures easy access and integration into reports.

Ensuring Data Consistency

A critical aspect of the geotagging process is ensuring that the moisture reading accurately corresponds with the photograph. Failing to pause the reading before taking a photo can result in discrepancies, as the meter continues to update the reading in real-time. This can lead to confusion and inaccuracies in your data records. By consistently pausing the reading prior to capturing an image, users can maintain data integrity and ensure that each geotagged photo accurately reflects the moisture level at the specific location and time of measurement.

The geotag feature on Tramex 5-series meters, in conjunction with the Tramex Meters App, offers a robust solution for accurate and organized moisture data collection. By integrating geotagged photographs with moisture readings, professionals can enhance their documentation processes, improve data accuracy, and streamline reporting. Adopting this feature not only facilitates better project management but also ensures that moisture assessments are thorough and reliable.
